I refuse to believe that. It'd be more of an effort, sure. We'd have to find a sitter (parents!), prep his food, and of course, freak out the whole time I'm at the theater wondering if little AJ's been carried off by an eagle that's secretly been lurking in my in-law's yard.
But what if someone said you can take your crying baby to the movies with you?
You'd say, get the f*** out, cause no one would ever voluntarily go to a theater that'd allow that. It's like voluntarily sitting next to a crying infant right?
Mommy matinees. Movies at matinee times at small theaters where the guests are the same as you. Mommies. With babies. Who may fuss.
It might not sound like the most attractive activity to a lot of people. But, for those of us who feel like we're stuck at home watching HGTV while willing our children to make poop, like 24 hours a day, going anywhere outside where there's something fun to do and crying is allowed, well feels like a pretty damn good day.
See the article posted below about where these places exist in Portland. My eye's on the Kennedy school. One of my fave pre-pregnancy hangout places. It's a haunted elementary school in NE Portland that's been converted into a hotel/bar. Tickets are 3 dollars a piece for adults (unbeatable!) and food at this place is always delish. Win.
Just e-mailed my mommy buddy, E. Can't wait to give this place a try!
